WWII Berlin Bomb Damage

The fall of the German capital, show something of the tremendous devastation wrought in the city by Allied bombardments. Fires which raged for many days added to the plight of the inhabitants who, unable to obtain water, queued day and night. High explosives tore open many roadways and in some cases exposed the underground railway. Extensive damage suffered by buildings in Saarlandstrasse, one of the streets leading from the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin on Feb. 26, 1945. (AP Photo)
