Friday Pick-me-up

Bad news, it’s hardly 9. Good news, it’s Friday! Only 8ish more hours until you can celebrate your short lived freedom. Whether you were crunching numbers or digging ditches, celebrate the fact that you made it through another grueling work week. At the end of the day, we’re all just doing one thing anyway…

Hate it or love it, the under dog is on top. Literally nothing to do with this blog, just thought it was fitting. In what way? No clue. Let’s just pretend and run with it.

Seriously though, it’s the weekend. I was fortunate enough to have a short week, but it still feels like it has lasted for months. Maybe I’m still a little hungover from all the Mic Ultras I had on Sunday…Maybe I’m just a piece…Maybe both. Who knows? All I know is, I’m heading back to the promise land this weekend (northeast Michigan for those of you who don’t know) to spend some time in God’s country. By God, I of course mean Paul Bunyan. Really looking forward to getting back to my roots and blacking out at the Office after a nice meal and a mug from Wiltse’s Brew Pub (Pro tip if you enjoy life, food, and beer you need to visit Wiltse’s…best place in Michigan as far as I’m concerned).

With the Super Bowl Big Game over, I’m glad there is a break in the exciting game action until March (unless you count meaningless Red Wings and Pistons games). I don’t think my body can handle the emotions it felt during that game for a while. What a game. Tons of grit out there. It’s great to see a lot of high motor, high football IQ guys with a lot of heart go out there and win on the biggest stage.

Meanwhile, I’m still a degenerate gambler and I’m throwing money at parlays like it’s my job. Really irrational stuff, but it makes me feel alive, so whatever. Can’t wait until the Final Four so I can feel alive again.

Pre song PS – Dave snapped his entire Saturday down here last weekend and we saved it. Going to flip it into a neat little video and see what we can do.

First song is just a jam. Really gets me going every time I hear it. Played this at least 200 times in the basement of 832 Walnut.

Second song is just pure magic. Sit back and let it consume you
